The thread that started it all, this one has been a bit more involved than the others.

The original post, by user TheRealMakar, started with a question: “If you could paint your dream Awnings frame, what would you do?”

“I’m not really a fan of this,” one of the commenters wrote back.

“I’m sure I could paint it a nice shade of brown, but I’d have to use the wrong brush.”

“I can paint it white but I hate how ugly the frame looks,” the other replied.

“Theres a lot of time and money to be spent on a fancy frame, and there isnt enough room to put it together.

Youre gonna have to make a simple piece of wood and glue it together,” one person replied.”

It would take more than a week to make,” another user wrote.

“This isnt my cup of tea.

But it would still be a nice frame.””

That’s a fair point.

But I think it’s a little too easy, considering how much effort would have to be put into the design,” the first person replied, “and how many different materials would have needed to be used.”

The thread quickly gained traction on Reddit.

It was shared by the Awns4Eternity community and eventually became a topic of discussion on the site.

AwningFrames are available for purchase on Etsy for $5 each.

As for the person who suggested painting the frame a lighter shade of grey, TheRealmakar said that he was “happy to paint a dark grey one,” but would have preferred to have a darker colour.

“I am not a big fan of dark grey, but this will be a great alternative if I have to paint my own,” he wrote.

One commenter also commented that “I dont want to paint the A-frame, but that would be awesome if I had to,” and suggested that a black and white paint would be the perfect colour.

You can see the whole thread in action here.

But why paint the frame at all?

“This is a very personal thing for me, but my dream is to paint an Awnery frame,” said TheRealmsakar.

“It would be so cool to do it, I know.”

“Its a pretty simple idea.

I would paint it black, and then glue it to the bottom of the wall, and I’d put a little picture of my favorite TV show or book on top of it,” another person suggested.

There is still a long way to go before the AAWM is a reality, but the thread has inspired some interesting designs.
